Ways to stay COOL this Summer

Ahhhh... we made it :) Happy Summertime!

SO many reasons to celebrate and be grateful as we enter this cherished time of year. Longer days means more light for getting outside, warmer temps, green growing gardens, gathering with friends and taking adventures to name a few. Tuesday (6/21/22) is the longest of the year and is a particularly good time to get outside and soak up some of the natural rhythms. For some self help tips to stay cool and calm this Summer- please click HERE

DIY Peppermint Cooling Spray: Drip 3-5 drops of therapeutic Peppermint essential oil in a 2 oz. spray bottle. Fill bottle with water Shake well, spritz on your chest, arms, feet or neck and COOL down! This is definitely one of my Summer essentials and has a permanent place in my bag! You can add a drop of Lavender to soothe or a few drops of aloe gel for a little moisture too. Summer is the time to align with our hearts wisdom and seek to nourish ourselves with more Joy and Connection.

How do you feel about " joy" right now...? do you find it in outer ways of connection with others? Inner connection with self? Disconnected? Space? Quiet? Sound? Chaos? Movement? Stillness? Is it hiding under grief? Do you ever feel anxious that you will "miss out" on something important? If you are starting to feel something other than joy or even overwhelmed by summers energy and the busy-ness of alll those plans.... or darnit if you cant attend the event... or you just dont "feel up for it", consider applying some JOMO- "joy of missing out" mentality to bring balance to the heart-mind and cool things down. JOMO is the antidote to FOMO lol.... have you ever tried it? Its one of my favorite practices! :)

"JOMO- pleasure derived from living in a quiet or independent way without feeling anxious that one is missing out on exciting or interesting events that may be happening elsewhere." "JOMO is the perfect antidote to a long summer of excess" More on the value of JOMO here in Psychology Today
